4th International Classical Guitar Competition (April/May 2025)

The competition is open for all guitarists born in 1993 and younger.

 

First round 

Thursday, 3rd April and Friday, 4th April 2025 – online in video form.

The first round program should include between 12 and 15 minutes of music featuring at least two different styles/periods of the competitor’s choice.

The competition is public and the first round can be watched on our YouTube Channel.

Second/semi-final round 

Friday, 16th May 2025 – live at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg (Salle Polyvalente).

The second round program should include up to 18 minutes of music featuring at least two different styles/periods of the competitor’s choice and including at least one movement from one of the sonatas listed here.

​

Final round 

Sunday, 18th May 2025 – live at the Philharmonie Luxembourg (Salle de musique de chambre).

The final round program should include up to 22 minutes of music featuring at least two different styles/periods of the competitor’s choice and including at least two movements from one of the sonatas listed here.

​

No pieces or movements can be repeated in different competition rounds!

 

Awards

1st prize: 4000€ (Award of the Ville de Luxembourg)

2nd prize: 2000€ (Award of the Ministry of Culture Luxembourg)

3rd prize: 1200€ (Award of the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg)

4th prize: 800€ (Award of the Festival de guitare de Luxembourg)

Audience award: 400€ (Sponsored by the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg)
